Wondering if you might be pregnant? While a pregnancy test and ultrasound are the only surefire ways to confirm a pregnancy, there are symptoms you can look for that may indicate you’re pregnant.

Read on to learn the top seven symptoms of pregnancy. Or, if you’re looking for free pregnancy testing, contact First Choice Georgia Pregnancy Center to schedule a free appointment with one of our caring team members.

1. Missed Menstrual Period

Are you still expecting your period? Do you think it should have happened already? If your period doesn’t show up this month, it could mean you’re pregnant.

During pregnancy, a specialized hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) tells your body to stop menstruating and instead thicken the uterine lining. This causes you to miss your period.

2. Swollen, Tender Breasts

Does your bra feel tighter this month? Are your breasts more sensitive or tender than usual? If so, pregnancy hormones could be to blame.

3. Nausea

You might be pregnant if you’re feeling nauseous throughout the day without a known cause. While the causes of “morning sickness” aren’t fully understood, it’s thought that rising hormone levels during pregnancy can lead to feelings of nausea and/or vomiting.

4. Increased Urination

During pregnancy, your body’s blood volume increases. This causes your kidneys to work harder, which results in more frequent urination. If you find yourself running to the bathroom more than usual, this could indicate pregnancy.

5. Fatigue

Have you been feeling more tired lately without a known cause? If so, this could be a symptom of pregnancy.

6. Moodiness

If you feel like you’re on an emotional rollercoaster lately, this could mean you’re pregnant. Early pregnancy hormones can cause you to feel happy one minute and sad the next.

7. Bloating

If your jeans fit tighter lately without any known reason, pregnancy might be to blame. During early pregnancy, hormones can cause you to experience bloating.
