OPTIONS COUNSELING

At First Choice Georgia, we are here to listen to you. We offer you a safe, non-judgmental place to talk, to think through your options, and to share how you are feeling during this decision-making process.

Our trained patient advocates and nursing staff are available to discuss your alternatives and answer your questions. They will provide you with evidence-based information regarding abortion, adoption, and parenting. It is very important that you decide what is best for you now and in the future.

You have a right to get all of the accurate facts before you make any important decisions. You will find supportive, compassionate counsel here, because we understand that life doesn’t always turn out the way you thought it would.

Options Counseling

First Choice Georgia’s options counseling includes a discussion of all three of the choices you have if you are pregnant. These include:

  • Abortion,
  • Continuing the pregnancy and parenting the child, and
  • Continuing the pregnancy and placing the child for adoption.

Abortion Procedures & Information

There are different methods of abortions used depending on how far along in the pregnancy you are. Each one has possible risks and complications . While First Choice Georgia does not perform or refer for abortions, we can discuss the various abortion procedures with you and answer your questions. You can also read the State of Georgia’s digital copy of Abortion: A Woman’s Right to Know for further information.

To make a truly informed decision about abortion, you should seek professional pre-abortion counseling. Call our office today  to make an appointment for options counseling.

Continuing the Pregnancy & Parenting the Child

If you are interested in parenting class, just let us know.  Our class helps prepare you for your baby and offers valuable information on becoming the best parent you can be. There are other resources in our community to which we may be able to refer you, as well.

You can read more about healthy pregnancy resources in the state of Georgia, by visiting the Department of Public Health’s site here or the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies site.

Continuing the Pregnancy & Placing For Adoption

Placing your baby for adoption may be a difficult choice, but don’t let the fear of the unknown keep you from exploring it.  Many women facing a crisis pregnancy find adoption the best option for them. It may be right for you, too. We encourage you to learn all the facts and know for sure. After confirming you are pregnant, a patient advocate can answer your questions about what placing your baby for adoption could look like for you.

We partner with Covenant Care Adoptions to pair mothers with an unplanned pregnancy and qualified couples who want to adopt. One of their birth mother advocates will help you make an adoption plan. You determine the level of openness you want with the adoption. You may visit the Covenant Care website here to find more information or call our office if you’d like to talk.
